Hi! My name is Hani Esther Indictor Portner, and I created three educational audio documentaries on Gertrude Sandmann, Lotte Laserstein, and Toni Ebel, producing the podcast “Passing the Paintbrush,” which was released in the Fall of 2024. It was a project hosted by the Spinnboden Lesbian Archive and funded by Demokratie in Der Mitte’s Aktionsfund.

After the release of each podcast episode we had a historical and practical art workshop that took place in Mitte on the featured artist and in December 2024 there was an open gallery event for anyone who wanted to attend and see the art from the particpants. Now in the fall of 2025, the final five interviews and bonus episodes  from Season 1 are being released thanks to the Queer Journalism grant provided through History Unit and funded by the Foundation Remembrance, Responsibility and Future (EVZ) and the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF) as part of the Education Agenda on NS-Injustice.

Passing the Paintbrush is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube now! Follow @Friends_of_dora on Instagram for further updates on upcoming episodes and workshops. Stay creative friends!
